During my recent trips to Rajasthan, I noticed that the Jaipur is a great holiday destination. In addition to regular sights there were numerous places and I was astonished to see that ancient monuments. Earlier, due to lack of  connectivity made it less visible in travel routes of Rajasthan.Now that there are daily flights to Jaipur from Delhi , one can easily add this city to tour of Rajasthan

Tourism

Jaipur is a top tourist destination in India and it was ranked the 7th best place to visit in Asia. Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC)  is Rajasthan's biggest convention and exhibition centre. It is well-known for organising events such as Vastara, Jaipur Jewellery Show, Stonemart and Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit.

Visitor attractions include the Birla Auditorium, Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall Museum, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, Sunset at Surya Mandir, The Jaipur Zoo, Birla Mandir Nahargarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort, , Galtaji, Govind Dev Ji Temple, Garh Ganesh Temple, Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple, and Sanghiji Jain temple .

1. Birla Auditorium

The B. M. Birla Auditorium is located very near to the Statue Circle at the Prithvi Raj Road in Rambagh, Jaipur

2. Hawa Mahal

The Hawa Mahal is a palace in the city of Jaipur, India. It was made from red and pink sandstone, it is on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and extends to the Zenana, or women's chambers. 

Its five-floor exterior is like as honeycomb with its 953 small windows called Jharokhas decorated with latticework. The original intent of this unique design was for royal ladies to observe everyday life and festivals celebrated in the street below without being seen, since they had to obey the strict rules of "purdah", which rule out them to enter in public without face coverings. This architectural feature also allowed cool air from the Venturi effect to pass through, making the whole area more pleasant and cool during the high temperatures in summer. Many people see the Hawa Mahal from the street view and think it is the front of the palace, but it is the back.

3. Albert Hall Museum

The Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur, is the oldest museum. The building is located in Ram Niwas garden outside the city wall opposite New gate and is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. It is also known as the Government Central Museum. 

Collection:-

The museum has a rich collection of arts including paintings, jewelry, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, and works in crystal. The collection includes coins from the Gupta, Kushan, Delhi Sultanate, Mughal and British periods.

Must see \ Things to do: 

Look up and you’ll see its Indo – Saracenic inspired domes and intricately carved arches that have been establised from sandstone.

4.Jal Mahal



Jal Mahal  is a palace in the center of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city,Rajasthan.

Location of Jal Mahal :- 

The palace is situated on the main Jaipur-Amer road.  Visitors can go easily by bus, auto, and taxis. The nearest bus stop is Shahpura Bagh from Jal Mahal. To enjoy the numerous tourist attractions of Jaipur in a comfortable manner, you can book a cab from top car rental companies in Jaipur and have a hassle free tour of Jaipur city.

Attractions near Jal Mahal:- 

Garh Ganesh Temple (3.7km),

Badrinath Temple (5.1km),

Govind dev Ji Temple (5.8km),

Birla Mandir (9.9km) 

5. City Palace


The palace complex lies in the center of Jaipur city. The site for the palace was located on a plain land encircled by a rocky hill range, five miles south of Amber. The history of the city palace is nearly attached with the history of Jaipur city.

Pay special attention to the three gates and the carvings on them.

The Palace was also the known for religious and cultural events, as well as a patron of arts, commerce, and industry. 

6. Amer Fort



It is situated high on a hill, it is the main tourist attraction in Jaipur. Amer Fort is known for its unique or different artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and number of gates and scrible paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake,which is the main source of water for the Amber Palace. 

Best Time to Visit and Time Required:-

If you truly want to enjoy the environment of Fort, make sure to have at least 3 hours' time in hand. The fort is best visited around 4 PM, when the sun heat is not disturbed you but there is still enough light to explore.

A fifty minute light and sound show that is held in the evening at the Amber Fort – it is an great way to know more about the fort’s history.


7. Jantar Mantar


The Jantar Mantar, Jaipur is a group of 19 different types of astronomical instruments built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur, Rajasthan.

It was used as a filming location for the 2006 film The Fall as a maze.

8.Sunset at Surya Mandir


Surya Mandir of Jaipur is a part of the larger of Galta Ji temple . This temple is situated in west side of the city

The greatest attraction of temple is its elevation of 200 meters above the city, which provides wonderful panoramic views, that are stunning viewed at time of sunset. The environment of temple is calm ambience, serene views and the pleasant short hike up the hill is an great way to get away from the hustle-bustle life of the city for some spirituality.

9.The Jaipur Zoo


Timings and Entry Fees of Jaipur Zoo:

The zoological garden is open six days a week except Tuesday. The timings for enjoy the environment of zoo are different for summer and winter months. At the time of summer months, the zoo is open from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM on the other hand, during winter months, it is open between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Entry fees is 15 to 150 it may vary at puchase time.

Best Time To Visit Jaipur Zoological Garden:

The best time to visit the Jaipur zoological garden is during the winter months, between October to March, when the weather is relatively pleasant.

The zoological garden was made to preserve and conserve the wildlife that included mammals, birds and reptiles. Based on the animal families within the zoological garden, the garden is divided into two parts, one for mammals and the second for reptiles and birds.

10.Birla Temple


Jaipur’s Birla Temple is located on the Moti Dungri Hill. This temple was built in the year 1988 by the Birlas. A unique structural defined its quality made out of white marble, the complex of the Birla Temple reflects ancient Hindu architectural styles and modern design.
 
The walls of the temple has portray carvings of Hindu gods and goddesses and texts from the Puranas and Upanishads.

The primary god of worship, Laxmi Narayan is carved out from a single piece of stone. Birla Temple draws a large number of devotees during Janmashtami. It is a great experience, both for pilgrims and travellers as the temple transports you to a different world and age altogether.

The icon of Ganesha Ji is a must see as it appears almost transparent.
